Vatapat, Ivory fan handle [slides]  Given by pious laymen and used by Bhikkus of higher rank (mayaka) to denote their position. Elaborate scroll pattering is usually restricted to the part of the handle which holds the fan and to the tip. The rest of the handle remains plain and turned  ACSAA
