Panava Katuva Ivory Comb Panel with Devi [slides]  Devi sitting cross legged with a dancer on either side. These panels were usually carved on both sides and perforated. The frame (katuva) often has a border of geometrical designs (kundirakkan) fringed by a row of small circles (arimbuva). The combs may have a single panel or a central panel flanked on either side by smaller panels  ACSAA
